The Latino Family Literacy Project™ provides parent involvement programs in public schools for LCAP and parent engagement goals. School staff will attend training to provide meaningful programs for Spanish-speaking Parents of ELL students. We have trained providers throughout 20 states and we offer online webinar training to school staff who work with parents at parent centers or school-based programs. Trained providers should be bilingual.
The bilingual programs are designed to establish family reading routines for Spanish speaking or English speaking parents and their children at your school site. Teachers learn a language acquisition method and a step-by-step literacy instruction process. It involves family reading for Hispanic parent involvement, vocabulary development, and English language development for parents and their children.
Each program engages the parents in reading with their children. All materials, books and curricula used are bilingual and in a simple format – perfect fit for your LCAP, Title I and Title III program requirements, Dual Language programs, and ESL or Migrant programs.
This program can be used to teach English language and Spanish language skills and is fully bilingual for your convenience. Our books and activities in the program are in Spanish and English.
Each program has a built-in evaluation process to measure the success of what the parents learned in class and includes at home skill-based activities for parents and children that support the state standards for each specific age group.
Our focus is to help parents be successful with increasing the academic success with their children in a way that works for the family.
